Ellisiophyllum pinnatum BSWJ197 |
Found growing in moist shade on the mountains of Taiwan, by Bleddyn Wynn-Jones, a low growing/trailing perennial, with pretty, feathery foliage, and white flowers during the growing season. Roots at the nodes as it creeps. Hardy with us. Can effectively be used in a hanging basket for those difficult shady spots. | |

Ensete ventricosum Maurelii |
Closely related to bananas, this is an absolutely stunning foliage plant with large paddle-shaped leaves of deep green, bathed with burgundy brown, which becomes progressively darker towards the leaf edges. The mid-ribs are a pleasing dark burgundy red, and if that weren't sufficient, the underside of the leaves is also flushed red. Superb in a large container, or plunged in the garden outdoors in summer. though it must be over wintered undercover, with a minimum temperature of approximately 5 degrees C. Full sun/part-shade. Ht 3m x 2m Sorry, but these are large plants, and much too heavy to send with other plants and therefore must be treated as a separate order. |
