Ranunculus ficaria

The following cultivars make a valuable contribution to the late-winter and spring garden. Most form clumps with attractive glossy heart-shaped foliage at ground level in some cases beautifully marked with silver or purple which provides a nice foil for the cheerful bright little flowers in spring. Although they do best in moist semi-shade, they are fairly tolerant and look good grown under the canopy of deciduous trees or shrubs. Dormant summer and autumn.

Mist-maidens. A delightful little tuberous plant, forming low clumps of scalloped glossy-green foliage, to grace the garden through the winter, with an array of white flowers with a yellow throat in spring.
